Stage Makeup
the Pointe of my life

Want to look your best for the big show?
a few ways to help...

Make sure you adjust your makeup for the stage you are going to be dancing on...too little or too much, and you'll either looked washed out or scary!

Wear the exact makeup you are planning on wearing for the performance at the dress rehearsel.  Even a slight change may make a big difference in how it looks from the audience!

Choose makeup that matches your coloring!  Even if you are supposed to blend in with the rest of the group, you will need different makeup then everyone else!

Before going on stage, check your makeup carefully for any smears or smudges, and MAKE SURE YOU DON'T HAVE LIPSTICK ON YOUR TEETH!  It's easy for it to happen, and it sure ruins your big smile!

Make sure your makeup matches your character; your facial expression may NOT be enough to portray what you would like to portray.  If you are a fairy, then glitter or small rhinestones in the corner of your eyes will be fabulous, but if you are something a little less glamourous, they would be just plain out of place!

Look at your makeup with ALL of your costumes.  The bright red lipstick that looks stunning with your red costume may not be so great with the pink or green costume that comes later in the show!

Remember; You can't let makeup do the expression for you!  Your self-confidence is what is going to make you shine!
